Bank At School
First Security bank began Bank At School in 2000. Bank At School is a program of the Illinois State Treasurer's Office. The Bank At School program offers students a chance to open savings accounts and make deposits to their accounts on regularly scheduled bank days. Students learn important financial skills through hands-on experience and classroom lessons.
Bank At School has been offered to students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th since 2000. Bank At School is the third Wednesday of each school month for fourth through sixth graders. Each bank day is done in the cafeteria before the beginning of the school day.
If your child is not participating in the Bank At School, we encourage you to open a savings account for your child so he or she can participate in each Bank At School Day. Accounts can be opened at the Main Bank, Heritage Lake Banking Center or the Deer Creek Banking Center. Savings Account Applications can also be picked up on Bank At School days at your child's school.
After each banking day, a name is drawn from those making a deposit. The winner has an additional $5.00 added to his or her account.
